Tomorrow is the UN International Day for the Preservation of the Ozone Layer (World Ozone Day)
It marks the day in 1987 when the nations of the world came together to sign an agreement eliminating the use ofchemicals that deplete the fragile layer of ozone in the atmosphere that is essential to preservation of life on this planet.
Now, more than ever, when solutions to global environmental challenges are evading us because partisan and national politics are overriding the use of science, logic and engineering, it is important to remember that on at least two occasions in recent history we were able to resolve a major problem co-operatively.
