Sandbar holiday park has swapped a traditional planked fence for surfboards | Great Lakes Advocate

He may be a few hundred surfboards short, but Evan Hunter is going to have a crack at beating the Guiness Book of Records for the world’s longest surfboard fence. That honour belongs to Donald Dettloff who has 647 different boards displayed around his property in Haiku, Maui, Hawaii. “I am confident we can out-do the Americans if we put our minds to it,” Evan said. Evan, who manages the Sandbar and Bushlands Holiday Parks and Golf Course began his challenge quite by accident after having a casual chat with a local. His search for surfboards of any size, shape and condition began with a Facebook request asking for donations of boards to act as a screen to line the 200 metre entry fence.
